I actually think the clap in the Mkll sounds smoother and less harsh than the clap in the MkI. I have an MkI and the slight harshness in the clap is the thing about it that bugs me the most. However, I wish the pitch of the Mkll clap was the same as the pitch of the MkI clap. I like the tighter snare of the MkII as well. I also hope the kick has a longer maximum decay on the MkII as well. BTW, I read something in one of the comments on here that the Mkll has some new features. What are the newly added features on the MkII that don't exist on the MkI version?

In isolation it's exactly as you say, only the clap and cowbell are different, but when playing a pattern there is a huge difference in the sound between the machines. The MKII definitely sounds fuller and warmer compared to the thinner, colder sounding MKI. Great video bro.

the mk1 sounds closer to an OG 808, i bet they had to change some sounds in addition to the keys for legal reason, listen to that one comparison video where he goes back and forth on marvin gaye song, the mk1 sounds way closer

Where did you source the audio? I have been able to trigger a sh101 from my mpc's output with a squarewave from the sh101. But it seems to alter the pitch of my Sh101, a bit, while syncing.

i had a Roland distributer in my Syntstore. He told me, that Behringer was warned from Roland because of the color scheme. So Behringer told the clueless customer they get a better version of the RD 8 because of the "so important" V662A chip but the absolute only reason for the Mk2 is the color scheme 😂
